Iain Wright MP, Shadow Minister for Industry
The Infrastructure Forum welcomed the Shadow Industry Minister to a special dinner discussion. Iain Wright MP has been shadow minister for Business, Innovation and Skills since 2011, having previously served in the last government as a minister in the Department for Communities and Local Government and for Children. This was an excellent opportunity to discuss infrastructure policy with a key member of the Opposition's Shadow Team.
The Future of Independent Regulation Special Roundtable with Roger Witcomb
EPF's Regulatory Best Practice Group welcomed the Chairman of the Competition Commission, Roger Witcomb, and the Chair of Consumer Focus, Christine Farnish, led a discussion on the future of independent economic regulation in this roundtable of the Forum's Regulatory Best Practice Group.

Special Dinner Discussion with Rt Hon John Hayes MP, Cabinet Office
As Energy Minister, John Hayes had a focus on key infrastructure questions and, of course, became especially prominent because of his comments about the economics of wind power. This discussion dinner provided an opportunity to explore a range of issues across infrastructure policy with a Minister right at the heart of government decision making early in his new responsibilities
Special Roundtable with Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP
Michael Fallon is now, of course, Minister of State at BIS responsible for its new Red Tape Challenge, which has a particular focus on infrastructure. The roundtable was an opportunity to explore issues concerning infrastructure in the context both of the Red Tape Challenge and the Department's broader work affecting financing, supply of capital, economic development and EU issues.
The Infrastucture Forum Annual Policy Summit 2013
The Infrastructure Forum's second policy summit was held in the historic setting of Hartwell House, Buckinghamshire. The summit is designed to provide leaders from the private and public sectors with the opportunity to meet to discuss the key upcoming policy issues affecting infrastructure financing and policy.
TIF Advisory Council Dinner Discussion with Rt Hon Margaret Hodge MP
Guest of honour as dinner speaker was Rt Hon Margaret Hodge MP, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee. The meeting reviewed the activities and initiatives of the Forum's Working Groups and assessed the results to date of the National Infrastructure Plan.

The Labour Party recently announced the setting up of an Independent Review of UK Infrastructure Planning led by Sir John Armitt, Chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority. We were delighted Sir John Armitt, leading the Review, could join the Infrastructure Forum for a special roundtable.

European Financial Forum's Cumberland Lodge 2013 was chaired by Dr Adam Farkas, Executive Director, European Banking Authority (EBA). The Minister for Europe Rt. Hon. David Lidington MP joined a lunch discussion to exchange ideas on Britain's EU relationships and key issues arising from it, including the Review of Competences currently under way in the Cabinet Office.
